Levels of rights

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

For several rights there are four levels:

1. No rights
Functions are not executed and data is not shown. The corresponding menu items are deactivated or you get a message when you activate a function.

2. Read only
Dialogues and windows can be opened and data is displayed; however, changes are not allowed (e.g. view the timetable).
3. Edit views
This right is an add-on to "Read only". Additionally you can create new views and modify existing ones. The data cannot be changed.
4. Edit
You can change the data.

In our example you see the user group "Administrator" - which cannot be changed - and two more user groups, one for the substitution planner and one for the lesson planner.

The difference between "Read only" and "Edit views"

The difference between the two levels "Read only" and "Edit views" shall be made more clear with the following example.

As you can see in the picture, "Read only" allows no change of the data whatsoever. The level "Edit views" permits the activation of the buttons <Grid Adjustment> and <Settings> as well as the activation of the menu item "Display - Lessons" to create new views.

In both cases it is neither possible to change or delete existing lessons nor to create new lessons.

Caution!

This rule applies only to private views. As soon as a view is made "public", only users with the user right "Administration" can make changes. Read more about private and public views in the corresponding chapter .

Thus it is possible that e.g. people in the office can create new views and modify existing ones but they cannot change the data. However, this should not be allowed on publicly accessible teacher terminals.
