To install Untis MultiUser carry out the following steps.

On your Untis program CD you find the file gpUntis.mdb in the directory "MultiUser". Copy this file into a folder to which all users have read and write access. The default setting is the user "Administrator" of the corresponding user group (no password set). This user holds all rights of authorisation.

The following steps have to be carried out on every computer on which you want to work with MultiUser.

1.	Install Untis from the CD.

2.	Open the control panel of your windows computer.

3.	Double click on "Administration".

4.	Double click on "Data source (ODBC)".

A dialogue appears in which all already created data sources are listed. Now we want to add a data source for Untis. Therefore click on the button <Add>.

If you want to create the ODBC connection only for the active windows user then do this on the tab "User DSN". If you want to create the ODBC connection for all users who use this PC then do this on the tab "System DSN".

6.	From the list of drivers choose the driver "Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) and click on <Finish>. In case this driver is not listed, you can download it from the Microsoft homepage (search for "MDAC").

A dialogue appears in which you can specify the database that shall be connected and its name. The data source name has to be "gpUntis" if not defined otherwise in Untis. Read more about the ODBC name in chapter " Variable name of the ODBC connection ". Via the button <Select> you can determine the path that leads to the file gpUntis.mdb on the server.

8.	Confirm all dialogues with <OK>. The installation is now completed.
