Basically there are two possibilities to display departments with Untis MultiUser:
| • | External resources : Every department is represented as individual school. Elements that are shared by departments are treated as elements that are shared by schools. This approch is suitable for very large schools as only the data of one department is being read. |
| • | Collected data management : All data is collected centrally in the database. |
Working with external resources allows processing of data only within the department (like optimisation or cover planning) while collected data management makes it possible to apply all functions on the data of the entire school.
Collected data management is therefore the more advantageous approach for all schools whose amount of data does not affect the speed of Untis too much.
