Untis MultiUser offers, besides the already described databases, the possibility to work with MS SQL 2005. For the configuration carry out steps 1 and 2 as they are described in chapter MySQL Database .

Create a new ODBC data source named gpUntis which points to an empty (i.e. without any tables) MS SQL database.

You can choose either Windows NT authentication or MS SQL server authentication from the wizard which leads you through the ODBC settings of the MS SQL database. This decision has no influence on the operating mode of Untis. However, if you decide for the MS SQL server authentication then every computer which has this authentication, must have entered the same user name and password. You can make these entries in the "General MultiUser settings" (Modules | MultiUser | Settings) in the section MS SQL Server.

In the next step of the wizard you define the database that you want to use for Untis as standard database. If you have proceeded according to the examples above then enter "gpUntis".

In the last dialogue you do not have to make any entry to allow Untis a smooth access to the database. Click on <Finish> to complete the installation.

Now start Untis and choose "File | Login". The processing starts after the prompt if the conversion to MS SQL shall be conducted. This may last a few minutes depending on the size of the database.

If the conversion gets canceled during the run, you have to delete all potential tables from the database and restart the process.

After the conversion you can continue working as usual. The functions of Untis MultiUser are not altered, of course.
