Value Calculation - Multi-Week Timetable

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The multi-week timetable module enables you to put date limits on lessons in a variety of ways. This has a considerable effect on value calculation, as the examples on the following pages demonstrate.

Caution: Calculation

In this context it is particularly important to realise that value calculation - relevant at a time when no lesson scheduling has taken place (e.g. when assigning subjects) - uses the number of weeks in which lessons can be held on at least one day, i.e. when lessons can theoretically take place. It is of no importance how many school-free days occur in such a week.

The following methods of putting time limits on lessons are discussed:

Date time limitations

Lesson groups

Terms

Note: 2011/2012 school year

All the following examples were calculated for the 2011/2012 school year. For time limitations the turn of the year can have major consequences. A time limitation that in one school year lasts from Monday to Friday can in the next school year - if the'from' and 'to' dates remain the same - last for example from Friday to Tuesday. Value calculation would calculate in the first case with one week and in the second case with two. This would result in different values for different school years.
