As described in chapter Marking teacher, class room absent you can mark rooms absent in the absence window analogous to teachers and classes. Via the button <Allocate/Delete this room>
you can change the allocation of rooms or you can look for different rooms.
Example: room substitution
The Physics lab is not available on a Thursdsay. We have to find a suitable substitute room for all lessons concerned.
| 1. | Open the file demo5.gpn and mark the room PL absent on a Thursday. The open substitution is displayed as room replacement in the column "Type" in the substitution window. |
| 2. | On this day the room is occupied only in the first period. Place the cursor in the line and click on the button <Allocate/Delete this room> |

The left part of this window displays which room was originally scheduled for this lesson and the home room of this class.
The right part displays all rooms that are not occupied in this period. Additionally you get the information whether a displayed room is an alternative room of the originally scheduled room (Alt.Rm) or an alternative room of the home room of the class (Alt. HRm).
In case you have entered capacities in the master data then they are displayed here as well (column "Cap.").
| 3. | Select a room from the list (e.g. room R3a) and allocate it by double clicking or via the button <Allocate rm.>. |

Hint: Room changes directly in the timetable
Alternatively to the substitution window you can apply a room substitution directly in the timetable (see chapter Room substitutions in the timetable ).
