Special duty for a block

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

In the file demo5.gpn we want to create a special duty for a three period exam in class 4 on a Friday.

Example: Multi-period exam

We want to create a multi-period exam for class 4.

1.Open the file demo5.gpn and set the calendar on any Friday in the school year.
2.Open the window "Special Duties"clip0269and select class 4.
3.The exam shall take place in the first three periods. Enter at "Periods" 1-3 and confirm with the tab key or return.

In the lower part of the window, three lines appear for the first three periods to create the special duty.

If you know already which teacher(s) shall proctor the exam, you can enter them straight away. You can also leave these fields empty to look for a suitable proctor later on via the substitution window. In our example we want to enter the teacher, the subject and the room. Optionally you can enter a text which appears then as the substitution text.

4.Mark all three teacher fields with pressed left mouse button. Enter the short name of the teacher (Gauss) and confirm with <Return>. The teacher is entered in all three lines. Analogous you can enter the subject (Maths) and the room (R1b).
5.By clicking on <Create special duties> the special duties are created. There is a room collision in the second period as the room R1b is occupied. Answer the question concerning the clash with "Schedule the room without clashes".

Now you can see the special duties and the resulting cancellations in the substitution window. In our example we have to find another room for the lesson that was originally scheduled in room R1b and a substitute teacher for Gauss in the first period.
