You can access the actual rights via the summary list.

You should now assign different rights to the various user groups under <Maintenance> | <User Groups>.

The rights structure follows the following logic:

Right

Example

Yes/No

A teacher selection list is presented in the lessons display (1)

Read

Class timetables may be read (viewed) (2)

Write

Student master data may be written (modified) (3)

Create

New teachers many be created in the system (4)

Delete

Room groups may be deleted (5)

Duplicate

The row in question may be duplicated using + (6)

For some rights the <+> button in the last column is active (6). this button can be used to duplicate the row in question. This allows users to assign different rights to "all" elements than to their "own" students. A teacher's own students are for example all students for whom a teacher has been defined as form teacher. Another example would be a teacher's lessons – these are classified as "his/her" data.

The two rows of student assignment (7) can be interpreted as follows: for the teachers' own students, the members of the user group may read (view) student assignments and write (modify) them – this is what the first line means. The student assignments may be read (viewed) for all students.

Most rights are self-explanatory. The section below describes a number of special rights. Please note that you can find detailed examples of the most common user roles in the chapter User rights – examples . The use of Rights templates are also explained there.
